We exposed the corals&nbsp;to&nbsp;a combination of&nbsp;two&nbsp;chemicals commonly used in aquaculture \u2013 Azamethiphos (an&nbsp;anti-sea&nbsp;lice bath&nbsp;treatment) and Tralopyril (an&nbsp;new&nbsp;anti-fouling agent to prevent growth of organisms on farm nets).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our team led by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/site.nord.no\/benthic-ecology\/birte-schuppe\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"199\">Birte Schuppe<\/a>, consists of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/site.nord.no\/benthic-ecology\/team\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"108\">Renate<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/site.nord.no\/benthic-ecology\/team\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"108\">Sara<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/site.nord.no\/benthic-ecology\/team\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"108\">Alia<\/a>, Roraima\u00a0and two internship bachelor students from France, Servane and Vesna. At the end of the experiment all corals had to be&nbsp;snap&nbsp;frozen&nbsp;in liquid nitrogen and stored&nbsp;at -80\u00b0C to be tested for&nbsp;uptake&nbsp;of the two chemicals in their tissue. This experiment is part of Birte\u2019s PhD thesis and partly funded by the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/site.nord.no\/benthic-ecology\/vdws\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"229\">VDWS project<\/a>. This week the second phase of the experiment has started.
