Are you interested in teaching English language through literature? Do you want to go on a semester-long exchange in Norway? If you answered \u201cyes\u201d to the questions above, the ELLiL project<\/a> is a perfect option for you!<\/p>\n

What can I study at Nord University?<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can choose from the following courses:<\/p>\n

Compulsory course:<\/u>\u00a0<\/em>English Language and Literature Teaching (ENG1002), 15 ECTS (7.5 credits)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Electives:<\/em><\/p>\n

British Studies (SP171L), 15 ECTS<\/p>\n

Business English (SP203L), 10 ECTS<\/p>\n

International English (SP123L), 5 ECTS<\/p>\n

American Fiction after 1945 (SP229), 10 ECTS<\/p>\n

Language Science and Language Play (SP236L), 10 ECTS<\/p>\n

Epic Poetry after 1900 (ENG2004), 10 ECTS<\/p>\n

Norwegian for Foreigners (NO106L), 10 ECTS<\/p>\n

**Experience of Nature (ENT102L), 10 ECTS<\/p>\n

**Experience Pedagogy (ENT104L), 10 ECTS<\/p>\n

**Experience of Art, Architecture and Cultural Knowledge (ENT105L), 10 ECTS<\/p>\n

You will also experience teaching practice with a Norwegian school mentor once a week in a school in the region.<\/em><\/p>\n

What about the number of credits? <\/strong><\/p>\n

In total, you will be registered for 24-30 ETCS, i.e., 12-15 Canadian credits.<\/p>\n

When can I study there?<\/strong><\/p>\n

You are eligible to apply when you have finished or are in the process of completing your second-year practicum. <\/u>This program is for a fall semester exchange<\/u> only.<\/p>\n

What are the costs? Are there any scholarships?<\/strong><\/p>\n

You will pay the semester fee as usual to Bishop’s University but no tuition fees to Nord University. Your costs include: travel, food, insurance, study material and accommodation. You will receive two scholarships, paid in NOK, which equals at the November 2022 exchange rate:<\/p>\n

CAD 3,147 <\/strong>towards expenses for the semester at Nord University and<\/p>\n

CAD 1,350 <\/strong>towards travel costs<\/p>\n

I would like to travel with a fellow student. Is that possible?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The project supports the exchange of two students from each country per year.<\/p>\n

What are the application procedures for ELLiL?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Visit the\u00a0Bishop\u2019s international exchange website<\/a> and follow the instructions to submit an application to Bishop\u2019s International by\u00a0January 31, 2023. <\/strong><\/p>\n
