Book Description:This volume comprises 11 research-led accounts from Teaching English to Young Learner (TEYL) educators working in a range of diverse settings worldwide. The innovative practical and theoretical perspectives offer some important insights into effective TEYL pedagogy for the 21st century.
Chapter Description: The application of drama in teaching English to young learners (TEYL) is not new, but its potential remains underdeveloped. One reason for this is that teachers are often not fully aware of its benefits or how to apply it in their teaching. In this chapter, I argue that it must be introduced and rehearsed in teacher education in order to attain a widespread application in schools.
