With around 30,000 visitors from across the globe, BCBF provided a vibrant international stage for Norway\u2019s guest of honour programme, organised by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.norla.no\">NORLA<\/a><\/span> (Norwegian Literature Norway\u2019s presence was a groundbreaking trilingual picturebook project initiated at Nord University, bringing together Indigenous languages from the Arctic and the Pacific in a single publication.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f29953a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f29953a\" the Sea?<\/em> \/ <em>Mij le \u00e1bijn d\u00e1hp\u00e1duvvamin?<\/em> \/ <em>He Aha te Raru ki Tai?<span style=\"color: #008080\"><strong>*<\/strong><\/span><\/em> was presented as part of the official guest\u2011of\u2011honour programme. This publication marks the world\u2019s first picturebook to be released simultaneously in Lule S\u00e1mi, te reo M\u0101ori, and English\u2014an extraordinary milestone for Indigenous and minority S\u00f8rly<\/a><\/span> and illustrated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mpiotrowska.com\/bio\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Malgorzata Piotrowska<\/span><\/a>, and published as a co\u2011edition between the S\u00e1mi publisher Davvi Girji (Norway) and Five Oceans, an imprint of Oratia Books (Aotearoa New Zealand). <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/oratia.co.nz\/tag\/five-oceans\/\">Five Oceans<\/a><\/span> is dedicated to bringing translations into English and Pacific languages to readers in Oceania and beyond, and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.davvi.no\/?lang=se\">Davvi Girji<\/a><\/span> aims to promote awareness of S\u00e1mi culture and strengthen indigenous languages, history, and literacy.<\/p><p>The trilingual edition was translated:<\/p><ul><li>into te reo M\u0101ori by <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.writersfestival.co.nz\/programmes\/writers\/kanapu-rangitauira\/\">Kanapu Rangitauira<\/a><\/span>,<\/li><li>into Lule S\u00e1mi by \u00c1rran translator <a href=\"https:\/\/norla.no\/en\/news\/news-from-norla\/are-tjihkkom-translator-of-the-month\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Are Tjihkkom<\/span><\/a>,<\/li><li>into English by Associate Professor <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nord.no\/en\/about\/employees\/maria-nayr-de-pinho-correia-ibrahim\">Maria Nayr de Pinho Correia Ibrahim<\/a><\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nord.no\/om\/ansatte\/charlotta-maria-langejan\">Charlotta Maria Langjean<\/a><\/span> (Nord University).<\/li><\/ul><div><p>With only around 750 speakers, Lule S\u00e1mi is an endangered language. Presenting it as an equal partner alongside M\u0101ori and English on an international stage represents a powerful act of visibility and
