{"id":6,"date":"2018-08-30T11:58:23","date_gmt":"2018-08-30T09:58:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogg.nord.no\/frankenreads\/?page_id=6"},"modified":"2021-12-23T12:01:53","modified_gmt":"2021-12-23T11:01:53","slug":"about-frankenreads","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/site.nord.no\/frankenreads\/about-frankenreads\/","title":{"rendered":"About Frankenreads"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nord University&#8217;s English Department in Bod\u00f8, Norway is delighted to be affiliated with the international project <a href=\"http:\/\/Frankenreads.org\">Frankenreads<\/a>, which is being organized by the <a href=\"https:\/\/k-saa.org\">Keats-Shelley Association of America<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The goal of Frankenreads is to bring together scholars, students, and fans\u00a0from <a href=\"https:\/\/frankenreads.org\/partners\/\">all over the world<\/a> to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Mary Shelley&#8217;s 1818 novel <em>Frankenstein: A Modern Prometheus<\/em>, especially through live readings of the novel but also through other outreach events. <\/p>\n<p>Nord University&#8217;s Frankenreads outreach includes public lectures, an online and in-library <em>Frankenstein<\/em> exhibition, a film night, a Halloween party, and an all-day read-a-thon of the novel on October 31. In addition, we&#8217;re co-editing a scholarly journal that will feature 9 new critical essays on <em>Frankenstein<\/em> from various critical perspectives. Our activities are sponsored by the Nord University\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nord.no\/en\/about\/faculties-and-centres\/faculty-of-education-and-arts\">Faculty of Education and Arts<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We were very pleased to have been approached by K-SAA to take part in this project, and we feel that we are making a unique contribution to this historic moment.
