The Local Host Committee is delighted to offer participants the opportunity to register for lunch boxes on the conference days, a dinner in The Lavvo at Breivika on Friday 7th<\/em> June, a concert on Friday 7th<\/em> and another on Saturday 8th<\/em> June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Registration for the lunches and conference dinner on June 7th will close on Wednesday 29th May<\/strong>. Places are limited and are allocated on a first come first served basis<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the bottom of the page you will also find special NAISA deals for lunch and dinners at selected restaurants in Bod\u00f8. These special NAISA deals do not have any deadlines for registration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conference Lunches<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Daily: June 6, 7 and 8th – 11.45-13.00<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lunch boxes:<\/u><\/strong> You can order a lunch box for day 1, day 2 and\/or day 3 of the conference. Each lunch box includes 1 sandwich, 1 soda, 1 fruit and 1 sweet. They each cost 150 NOK<\/strong> (about $13.60). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are very excited to host a dinner in The Lavvo at Breivika, Pelle Molins Plass on Friday 7th<\/sup> June starting at 20:00<\/strong>. The menu includes “Bidos”, a traditional Sami Reindeer Stew served with potatoes, vegetables and fresh bread. It also includes coffee and multekrem, a traditional Norwegian dessert made of cloudberries and whipped cream. Guests will be able to purchase their drinks at The Lavvo. The dinner costs 1,050 NOK<\/strong> (about $95.23).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dietary Restrictions:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you have any dietary restrictions, we offer several options. For a gluten-free meal, we will serve gluten-free bread to go with the main course, and gluten-free biscuits with the dessert. For vegetarians and vegans, we will offer a vegetable bidos option. We will not serve fish at the conference dinner<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concert – European premiere of Raven Chacon\u2019s Voiceless Mass: <\/em>A concert with works by Raven Chacon and Elina Waage Mikalsen<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Nordnorsk\u202fKunstmuseum, in collaboration with\u202fArktisk Filharmoni and Bod\u00f8 2024,\u202fis proud to present a unique concert in Bod\u00f8 Cathedral <\/strong>featuring\u202fRaven Chacon\u2019s Pulitzer Prize-winning composition,\u202fVoiceless Mass<\/em><\/strong>, as part of the exhibition,\u202fRaven Chacon: A Worm\u2019s Eye View from a Bird\u2019s Beak<\/em>.\u202f\u202f<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accompanying his first solo museum exhibition in Europe at\u202fNordnorsk\u202fKunstmuseum\u202fin\u202fTroms\u00f8, Raven Chacon will come to\u202fBod\u00f8\/Buvvda\/B\u00e5d\u00e5ddjo\u202ffor\u202fthe\u202fperformance of his compositions,\u202fVoiceless Mass\u202fand\u202fBiy\u00e1n. The concert\u202fprogramme\u202fwill also feature an extended improvisational set by Elina\u202fWaage\u202fMikalsen<\/strong>.\u202f\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the premiere performance of Chacon\u2019s award-winning work in Europe<\/strong>.\u202fChacon\u2019s\u202fVoiceless Mass<\/em>\u202f(2021) was a site-specific commission for the annual Thanksgiving concert hosted by Present Music at The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It was composed specifically for the organ at the cathedral, and it uses the space of the church, an institution that has played a crucial role in the extinguishing of Native American culture to consider that legacy\u202fand\u202fhow it reverberates in the present.\u202fPerforming the piece in Bod\u00f8\/Buvvda\/B\u00e5d\u00e5ddjo draws parallels between S\u00e1mi and global Indigenous experiences, strengthening the links and networks of solidarity that can lead to empowered Indigenous futures<\/strong>.\u202f\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The\u202f<\/em>performance of\u202fVoiceless\u202fMass<\/em>\u202fwill be accompanied by another of Chacon\u2019s works,\u202fBiy\u00e1n<\/em><\/strong>.\u202fBiy\u00e1n<\/em>\u202ftakes its title from the Navajo word for \u2018song\u2019. In\u202fChacon\u2019s\u202fown words, moments of the composition repeat in the same way that a song might repeat if it were to be sung all night.\u202f\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concert – Transjoik featuring Yuliyana Krivoshapkina and Radik Tyulyush<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We are so fortunate to be joined by Transjoik<\/strong>, the well-known Norwegian jazz\/world band with over 20 years of experience! What happens on stage when the musicians come together is always new and improvisational. At the same time, we somehow know exactly what they have in store; the special experience, the way they use their voices, the S\u00e1mi yoik; all of which impress us again and again! Frode Fjellheim and Snorre Bjerck<\/strong> lead the way, together with partners Torbj\u00f8rn Hillers\u00f8y<\/strong> (bass) and Ronni Tekr\u00f8<\/strong> (guitar). The musicians in Transjoik are always curious about new voices and have the whole world as their catchment area, which gives the audience unique experiences. For this concert, they welcome throat singer Radik Tyulyush<\/strong> (Huun Huur Tu) from Tuva and Yuliyana Krivoshapkina<\/strong> from Sakha\/Yakutsia as guests. The tickets each 395 NOK<\/strong> each (about $35.83).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
