The course covers the following topics and lectures: Innovation and technology in sport, governance and social change, interdisciplinary methods and critical inquiry, innovative and creative research dissemination. The course adopts a cross-disciplinary, social scientific approach to explore new frontiers of sport organisations and research areas within sport. It features contributions from multiple experts across various fields, including sociology, sport management, history, innovation and organisational studies. The course promotes international collaboration and innovative, creative approaches to the social scientific study of sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Learning Outcomes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Knowledge<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The participanr will have:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>relevant knowledge of the development and adoption of new and emerging technologies in sport<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>knowledge of cutting-edge research within the field of technology, innovation and social change in sport.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>knowledge of key research needs and challenges related to technology, innovation and social change in sport.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Skills<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By the end of the course, the participants can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>apply their knowledge and skills from the course in order to identify, explore and solve complex problems and issues in relation to sport and sport organisations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>use creative, logical and intuitive thinking and particular methods and tools of research<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>carry out research dissemination in innovative and creative ways using digital tools and platforms<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Competence<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By the end of the course, the participants can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>identify relevant methodological and ethical issues in their own research<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>participate in public and academic debates on sport and sport organisations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong><u>Practical Information<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Dates<\/strong>: 17\u201321 November 2025<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Location<\/strong>: Nord University, Bod\u00f8 Campus, Norway<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Credits<\/strong>: 5 ECTS<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Language<\/strong>: English<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Fees<\/strong>:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Internal PhD candidates: FREE<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>External applicants: NOK 1 000<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Capacity<\/strong>: 20 seats (minimum 5 participants)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Examination:<\/strong>&nbsp;Portfolio (Pass\/Fail)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your portfolio comprises two elements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Research Dissemination Project<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Choose one format: opinion piece, blog post, vodcast\/podcast, social-media post\/carousel or reel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Produce a public-facing piece that showcases or critiques your own research<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Course Paper (4 500\u20136 000 words, incl. references)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select a theme tied to your PhD project or your dissemination piece<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engage with course literature, key theoretical debates and methodological reflections<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrate analytical depth and situate your topic within broader societal and organisational contexts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Admission &amp;
