She holds a PhD in History and an MA in Indigenous Studies from UiT \u2013 The Arctic University of Norway.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-52b864f0 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p>From 2022 to 2024, she was a visiting researcher at the University of Greenland, where she worked closely with Greenlandic Inuit on experiences of forced resettlement and colonial child removal. Her research in Nuuk forms part of a broader comparative study of relocations among Indigenous peoples in the Arctic, combining archival work with oral histories and community-based collaboration.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-52b864f0 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p>Since 2010, she has conducted empirical research on oral life histories of Indigenous peoples, primarily S\u00e1mi communities in the Nordic countries and Russia, with a focus on enforced resettlement and residential schooling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2015, she was a visiting researcher at the University of Montana and with the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Reservation in the United States.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-content-justification-center is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-52b864f0 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p>In her conference presentation at the Nord University S\u00e1mi and Indigenous Conference 2026, she will share insights from her comparative empirical work on S\u00e1mi and Inuit experiences of enforced resettlement in S\u00e1pmi and Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0;height:0px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer wp-container-content-9d1f8957\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nord University Anna Andersen is an Eastern (Kildin) S\u00e1mi historian and researcher in the project&nbsp;\u201cINDHOME: Indigenous Homemaking as Survivance\u201d&nbsp;at Nord University.
