Form\u00e5let med m\u00f8ta var dels \u00e5 sj\u00e5 kva for samlingar av s\u00f8rsamisk materiale dei hadde. Dels var form\u00e5let \u00e5 dr\u00f8fte ulike forst\u00e5ingar og praksisar av historieforvalting og kulturarvspolitikk med denne sentrale institusjonen. Endeleg var form\u00e5let \u00e5 unders\u00f8ke mulegheiter for forskingssamarbeid.<\/p>\n\n<p>Me blei tekne godt i mot, og fekk h\u00f8ve til \u00e5 m\u00f8te og diskutere med teknisk personale, samlingskuratorar og forskarar. Me l\u00e6rte mykje om b\u00e5de museets forvaltingspraksis og kulturarvprogram, og reiste inspirerte til \u00e5 utvikle forskingssamarbeid.<\/p>\n\n<p><em>In June 2025 parts of the project group met with staff at British Museum, London. The aim of the meetings was in part to view their Saami objects in their collection. Partly it was to discuss understandings and practices of the heritage policies with this central institution. One final aim of the visit was to explore opportunities for future research collaboration. <\/em><\/p>\n\n<p><em>We were generously received, learned a whole lot of the museum&#8217;s policies and current activities, and were inspired to persue research cooperation opportunities. <\/em><\/p>\n\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/site.nord.no\/ssmc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/37\/2025\/06\/IMG_5691.jpeg\" alt=\"\" \/>\n<figcaption>Richard Wakeman, Assistant Collection Manager ved British Museum, held fram den eine av dei samiske trommene dei har i sine samlingar.
