I en str\u00e4van att uppn\u00e5 detta m\u00e5ste Universitetet erbjuda sina studenter att sj\u00e4lva f\u00e5 g\u00f6ra egna akademiska och sociala erfarenheter.<br \/>\nStudenter som f\u00e5r bidra, baserat p\u00e5 deras intresse och f\u00f6rm\u00e5ga, k\u00e4nner en st\u00f6rre delaktighet med utbildningen. Genom att skapa m\u00f6jligheter att aktivt delta medverkar man ocks\u00e5 till att f\u00f6r\u00e4ndra studenters beteende fr\u00e5n att vara en passiv konsument till att bli en aktiv medproducent som i st\u00f6rre utstr\u00e4ckning tar ansvar f\u00f6r sitt eget l\u00e4rande.<br \/>\nAtt under sin studietid f\u00e5 till\u00e4gna sig andra v\u00e4rdefulla erfarenheter och kunskaper vid sidan av de akademiska f\u00e4rdigheterna f\u00f6rberedes studenterna b\u00e4ttre f\u00f6r yrkeslivet och g\u00f6r dem ocks\u00e5 till b\u00e4ttre framtida ledare.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Leif Bryngfors<\/strong> \u00e4r Chef f\u00f6r det Europeiska SI-PASS-centret f\u00f6rlagt till Lunds Universitet i Sverige. Supplemental Instruction (SI) eller Peer Assisted Study Session, kan \u00f6vers\u00e4ttas med samverkansinl\u00e4rning, \u00e4r en pedagogisk modell med global spridning, vars syfte \u00e4r att f\u00f6rhindra avhopp och st\u00e4rka studenternas studief\u00f6rm\u00e5gor och f\u00f6rb\u00e4ttra resultaten. Europeiskt Centrum f\u00f6r SI-PASS \u00e4r ett av fem centrum i v\u00e4rlden med uppdraget att informera, utbilda och utv\u00e4rdera SI-program. Leif \u00e4r ocks\u00e5 chef f\u00f6r det Regionala SI-programmet (ett program som arbetar med samverkan mellan universitet och skolor) som finns i \u00f6ver 20 kommuner, sex h\u00f6gre l\u00e4ros\u00e4ten i s\u00f6dra Sverige och runt 30 gymnasieskolor och 10 h\u00f6gstadieskolor. Leif \u00e4r projektledare i Sverige f\u00f6r det internationella programmet Bridge to Employment (BTE) som i samarbete med skolor, arbetsgivare och universitet arbetar f\u00f6r att hj\u00e4lpa elever att bygga en stark framtid inom STEM2 omr\u00e5det (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and manufacturing) Leif \u00e4r en certifierad utbildare f\u00f6r Supplemental Instruction och \u00e4r ocks\u00e5 ledamot i ett antal styrelser, t ex INCLUDE, som \u00e4r ett nationellt n\u00e4tverk som arbetar med breddad rekrytering inom h\u00f6gre utbildning, \u00e4ven ledamot av den R\u00e5dgivande styrelsen vid Malm\u00f6 Universitet f\u00f6r ett \u00f6kat breddat deltagande, styrelseledamot i den Internationella SI-styrgruppen, styrelseledamot i det internationella n\u00e4tverket International Academic Peer Learning (IAPL) och i Ocean Academy vid Lunds Universitet som arbetar f\u00f6r att \u00f6ka medvetenheten om problem och m\u00f6jliga l\u00f6sningar i f\u00f6rh\u00e5llande till havet.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">***<\/p>\n<p><strong>Involving students in Higher education \u2013 A win win situation<\/strong><br \/>\nSeeing students as partners is a way off creating a learning community that foster Inclusiveness, Responsibility and Growth, as a University to achieve that will need to provide both academic and social experience for their students. Involving students contributing based on their interest and ability, make them feel Belonging to the Institution. Actively involving is also a way of changing student behavior from a passive consumer to active producer that take responsibility for his or her own learning. A possibility to learn other valuable skills equally alongside with academics skills will broaden the student experience and make, them a better leader of tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Leif Bryngfors<\/strong> is the Director for the European SI-PASS center at Lund University, Sweden. Supplemental Instruction (SI) or Peer Assisted Study Session is an academic support model with large international prevalence with the purpose of preventing dropouts and strengthen students\u2019 study abilities and results. The European Centre for SI-PASS are one of five centers worldwide with the mission to inform, train and evaluate SI-programs. He is also Director for the Regional SI program (working with the collaboration between Universities and Schools) across over 20 municipalities, six HEIs in southern Sweden, around 30 upper secondary schools and 10 lower secondary schools. Leif is Site Coordinator on the Bridge to Employment program that helps young people build solid futures and works with schools, employers and universities to encourage take-up of STEM-related subjects. Leif is a Certified trainer for Supplemental Instruction an also a member of a number of Boards. INCLUDE, a national network working with widening participation in higher education, also a board member of the Advisory board at Malm\u00f6 University for, Widening participation. Board member of the International SI steering committee.
