Online self-tapes
You need to make 3 short self-tapes for the application form. One where you introduce yourself, tell us something about yourself, your name, age, where you are from, and why you are applying. And two monologues that you choose yourself. We only request that the 2 chosen monologues are quite different and contrasting from each other. You can perform in your native language or any language of your choosing. Each monologue should be no longer than 2 minutes, plus a short introduction stating the text’s author, the name of the play, the scene, and the character you are playing.
Guidelines for making self-tapes
Make the films as simple and clear as possible. Remember that we are evaluating your acting skills, not the technical quality of the video.
• film your personal introduction (≤ 1 min): tell us your name, age, where you are from, and why you are applying.
• film 2 contrasting monologue (≤ 2 minutes each). Before each monologue, give a brief introduction (character, text, and author).
• Film each monologue in a single take without cuts or edits.
• Each recording should be no longer than 3 minutes (including text introduction).
• Ensure the camera is well placed to show your body as well as your face.
• Use good lighting, a neutral space, and ensure clear audio quality.
• Double-check that your video is clear and audible.
When you have made the films, upload the files onto YouTube and copy the links onto the application form. You should have 3 links.
- Personal introduction
- Monologue 1
- Monologue 2
