{"id":620,"date":"2025-11-27T15:34:09","date_gmt":"2025-11-27T14:34:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/site.nord.no\/turbo\/?page_id=620"},"modified":"2025-12-31T17:00:50","modified_gmt":"2025-12-31T16:00:50","slug":"capacity-building","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/site.nord.no\/turbo\/news-and-events\/capacity-building\/","title":{"rendered":"Capacity Building for Ukrainain universities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2025<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Continued Capacity Building in 2025<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In&nbsp;<strong>2025<\/strong>, Nord University and Kozminski University agreed to&nbsp;<strong>continue their joint capacity-building efforts<\/strong>&nbsp;within the framework of the&nbsp;<strong>TURBO project<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Based on the material from Pro and Basic programs from last year, the continued training programme <strong>Light<\/strong> was organized in a fully <strong>digital format<\/strong>. It was designed to&nbsp;<strong>strengthen the capacities of Ukrainian staff from higher education institutions<\/strong>&nbsp;in delivering&nbsp;<strong>flexible, practice-oriented, and labour-market-relevant educational offerings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More specifically, the programme aimed to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enhance the competences of Ukrainian HEI staff in&nbsp;<strong>strategic and crisis management<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>human resource management<\/strong>, and the&nbsp;<strong>development and delivery of innovative educational programmes<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support effective&nbsp;<strong>cooperation with local and international stakeholders<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitate the&nbsp;<strong>exchange of experience and best practices<\/strong>&nbsp;among project partners<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The course was delivered&nbsp;<strong>fully online<\/strong>&nbsp;and combined&nbsp;<strong>individual and group learning activities<\/strong>, ensuring accessibility and active engagement.<br>It ran from&nbsp;<strong>13 October to 1 December 2025<\/strong>, further reinforcing the long-term commitment of Nord University and Kozminski University to building&nbsp;<strong>resilient and future-ready higher education systems<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In total, 50 representatives of partner universities completed Light programme in 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Capacity Building for Ukrainian Partners<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>By April 2024, Kozminski University, in cooperation with Nord, launched two tailored capacity-building programmes designed to strengthen the skills and leadership capacity of partner higher education institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Pro Programme<\/strong>, aimed at university leaders, combined&nbsp;<strong>11 training sessions and 3 online workshops<\/strong>&nbsp;in a blended format. Participants met in person for&nbsp;<strong>five sessions in Warsaw in May 2024<\/strong>, alongside online activities. The programme awarded&nbsp;<strong>6.5 ECTS credits<\/strong>&nbsp;and required&nbsp;<strong>190 hours<\/strong>&nbsp;of engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>Basic Programme<\/strong>&nbsp;was developed for academic and administrative staff. It consisted of&nbsp;<strong>5 training sessions and 3 online workshops<\/strong>, delivered fully online. Upon completion, participants received&nbsp;<strong>4.5 ECTS credits<\/strong>&nbsp;for a total workload of&nbsp;<strong>130 hours<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Between&nbsp;<strong>April and June 2024<\/strong>, the trainings focused on three key thematic areas:&nbsp;<strong>strategic and crisis management<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>managing innovative educational programmes<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>building an interactive university<\/strong>. Overall,&nbsp;<strong>59 participants successfully completed<\/strong>&nbsp;the capacity-building activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, from&nbsp;<strong>April to September 2024<\/strong>, an online&nbsp;<strong>COSO course<\/strong>&nbsp;was organised, offering&nbsp;<strong>2.5 ECTS credits<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>75 hours<\/strong>&nbsp;of learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All trainees used the&nbsp;<strong>Canvas learning platform<\/strong>, which provided access to study materials and integrated assessment tools, ensuring a smooth and consistent learning experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In total,\u00a0<strong>59 trainees from Ukrainian HEIs successfully completed the capacity-building activities<\/strong>, with\u00a0<strong>31 participants attending in a hybrid format<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>28 participating digitally<\/strong>. This exceeded the planned number of\u00a0<strong>56 participants<\/strong>\u00a0(28 in person and 28 online).
