About

This blog is part of YoungArctic — a project led by the High North Center at Nord University. The project aims to make the Arctic a more attractive region for young people to settle, work, and live by gathering new knowledge, creating engagement, and supporting youth-led initiatives across the region.

Here at the blog, we publish portraits, interviews, and personal stories from young people who live, study, and work in the Arctic — or who want to. These voices reflect the real opportunities and challenges faced by Arctic youth today, from job insecurity and infrastructure gaps to climate change and Indigenous rights.

The blog works alongside our Instagram page, where we share shorter profiles, quotes, and visual content. Together, they offer a platform for young people to be heard — and for decision-makers, educators, and the public to better understand what’s needed for a vibrant and sustainable Arctic.

YoungArctic also contributes to the goals of the Norwegian Chairship of the Arctic Council, and supports national efforts to build strong, inclusive, and forward-looking Arctic communities.
