Coffee and mingling creates space for casual talking, breaking the ice and getting to know each other a bit before officially opening the first partnership seminar of 2024. Some a bit jet lagged, but all very excited to meet in person.

Allison Headrick and Madalina Raduta completed their International Alternative Practicum above the arctic circle, in Bodø, Norway. As students enrolled in their final year of the Queen’s Bachelor of Educationa, they could apply to do their IAP through CANOPY. They were placed together at Bankgata Middle School.
Every year, six students are selected to join a short term mobility activity as members of the annually-rotating CANOPY Partnership Groups (CPG). The CPG meets physically twice a year – once in Canada and once in Norway.
Haakon F. Sivertsen spent his 5th semester as an exchange student at Queen’s University. He experienced so much – not just on campus grounds. As he puts it: What started as a hesitant idea, turned into the best choice I’ve made in my life.
From 2-6 May 2022, Nord University was pleased to host this year’s first CANOPY Partnership Meeting. This was the first time since January 2020 that a full CPG group was able to meet in-person and the excitement was palpable!
