IRIS Salten IKS is an intermunicipal company with ownership in these companies:

IRIS Salten is now searching for interns with a big interest and passion for sustainability and circular economy. These are the fields in which we are interested in collaborating with interns:

• Calculation/quantification of emission savings from reuse
• Sustainability reporting
• Best practise mapping
• Optimization of waste treatment, especially textiles
• Research and development projects

Tasks will include:

• Data gathering and analysis
• Interviews with stakeholders, collaborators & industry peers
• Literature, article and text reviews
• Preparation of reports for senior management
• Participation in meetings
• Contributions to externally funded research projects

We believe the relationship between academia and industry not only enriches the student’s educational journey but also fosters impactful contributions to our shared fields of interest, and that the work conducted, and the data gathered in this internship will very possibly be applicable in a potential master thesis.

Internship will be launched in collaboration with the High North Center (Nord University) with the opportunity for scholarship support and further work on a master’s thesis that is part of the EduSmart project.

Desired qualifications: We are open to applications from all master’s students who are interested in the stated themes. Together we will find suitable working tasks within the projects that are relevant for both parties. Please note that some of the tasks may require the ability to handle Norwegian texts. However, with the support of translation tools and AI-technology this will probably be a manageable challenge for non-Norwegians.

Place of internship: Home office and at IRIS’ premises at Vikan (7 kms from Nord University)

Application deadline: May 31, 2024

Open for number of positions: 1-2.

Duration: 120 or 240 hours
