The entertainment week at campus Røstad in Levanger begins with a creative weekend 2-4 February for media students at Nord University (Faculty of Social Sciences). All interested parties are welcome to experience an exciting and innovative competition.
On 6 and 7 February, the conference NEC will be held where researchers and industry professionals discuss game development and media entertainment from different angles. There will also be an exhibition for students’ work and productions. The theme of the conference is “diversity and inclusion” and it will be held in English.
Both the creative weekend and conference are free to the public. Program with times, place and speakers can be found by clicking on the event below or in their respective pages.
Hack’n’Jam – Creative Weekend (Feb 2-4)
“Join us at the “Hack’n’Jam” creative weekend to meet awesome people, have lots of fun and have a chance to win magnificent prices!”
The Hack’n’Jam creative weekend is a innovative jam, where games, film, animation and other creative media meet. It will take place in the canteen at Røstad Nord campus in Levanger. All Nord students can participate in the creative weekend, and this is especially true for students from the three study programmes Games and Experience Technology, Film and TV Production and CG Art and Animation. Others who want to see and experience this creative and intense innovation method are most welcome as an audience.
An innovative jam (aka hackathon or game-jam) is an entertaining and time-limited method for creating something new and innovative, e.g. in technology, computer games or media entertainment, where people work together or compete to find creative and smart solutions to small or big challenges.
Here are some ideas on what can be created during the Hack’n’Jam:
- Games and e-learning
- Entertainment production and process improvements
- Virtual/mixed reality
- Entertainment applications
- Short films and animations
- AI-generated entertainment media and entertainment
- PC and smartphone applications
