Synergies

TURBO project actively seeks synergies with other funded initiatives and research networks working on Ukraine-related education, research, and recovery. By connecting to existing platforms and communities, the project strengthens knowledge exchange, builds on established cooperation, and ensures complementarity rather than duplication of efforts.

UNERA

Ukrainian-Norwegian Education and Research Alliance (UNERA) is a network of Ukraine-based researchers and experts from universities, research institutes, non-governmental organizations, and other institutions interested in education and research cooperation with Norway. The Alliance builds upon the longitudinal cooperation between Nord University and the network of Ukrainian universities and NGOs that has continued since 2003 in several projects.

Participation is open to institutions in Ukraine and Norway that have been approved as Partners and Associated Partners of the Alliance. Each institution appoints members, which will be engaged into work of the Alliance. UNERA is based on voluntary commitment. Membership is free of charge.

UNERA provides a strong institutional foundation for synergies through its long-standing cooperation between Norwegian and Ukrainian universities and NGOs.

UKRAINETT

UKRAINETT is a network of researchers and experts in Norway with interest in and knowledge about Ukraine. The network is further meant to be a hub for Ukrainian researchers and academics who are currently in Norway due to the ongoing war in Ukraine.

UKRAINETT complements the project by connecting researchers and experts in Norway with strong expertise on Ukraine, including Ukrainian academics currently based in Norway due to the war. This network supports knowledge exchange, visibility, and academic collaboration relevant to the project’s themes.

UKRAINETT PLUS

The Norwegian Research Council funded a new 3-year project to continue and expand the UKRAINETT activities. The project is managed by NIBR at OsloMet University. Nord University is responsible for the Work Package 2 – organization of the Annual Ukrainett Plus Conference. The first UKRAINETT PLUS conference is expected to take place in Bodø in autumn 2024, Bergen – in 2025, and Oslo – in 2026.

The UKRAINETT PLUSS first conference, which will be arranged during autumn 2024, will also have hybrid sessions, meaning that even those members of UNERA who might be unable to travel out from Ukraine may also join the conference. We are open to receiving suggestions from you for possible topics for relevant research tracks.

The UKRAINETT PLUS network expands the scope of an already established cross-disciplinary Norwegian Network for research on Ukraine. It establishes and strengthens formalized cooperation with Ukraine-based research institutions and individual researchers as well as wit Ukrainian researchers in Norway.

Hromada

HROMADA – Nordic-Baltic Knowledge Network for the Rebuilding of Ukraine is a network comprising researchers based at universities, research institutions and think tanks in the Baltic and the Nordic countries with a specific expertise on Ukraine to contribute to the country’s rebuilding and sustainable development. The network provides a platform for cooperation and exchange, with a particular focus on producing and disseminating policy-relevant knowledge to decision-makers from the municipal level to the Nordic Council of Ministers, Nordic Council and Baltic Assembly. It consists of several thematic working groups, addressing possible solutions to concrete challenges. HROMADA is supported by the Nordic Council of Ministers.

HROMADA strengthens synergies at the Nordic–Baltic level by linking research and policy-oriented expertise on Ukraine’s rebuilding and sustainable development. Through its thematic working groups and policy focus, supported by the Nordic Council of Ministers, the network provides opportunities to connect project outcomes with decision-makers and broader regional initiatives.
