The project emerged from a need to address the complex challenge of massive displacement of people in Ukraine due to the war, and their need for integration into new communities. Thus, the project aims to have a direct impact on Ukrainian higher education institutions and Ukrainian society in general.
TURBO supports Ukrainian universities in strengthening their ability to respond to crises, particularly those caused by the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The project enhances universities’ capacity to offer flexible, practice-oriented education, provide retraining and social adaptation for internally displaced persons (IDPs), and align higher education practices with EU standards.
Project period: 2024-2026
Funding: ERASMUS Capacity building in the field of higher education (KA2), EU (under agreement No 101129315)
The project activities are aimed at building the capacity of Ukrainian higher education institutions to educate heterogeneous groups of students, create a common environment for such students and cooperate with various stakeholders to meet their special requests (in the case of IDPs, provide psychological help and increasing employability). This will be achieved by developing and implementing innovative educational programs (micro-credentials) to ensure their relevance to the local labor market and facilitate faster integration of IDPs.
