Sport and Gender 2022

Social program!

We have social events planned for each evening and the final morning! The social events are as follows:

Wednesday, November 16th

Welcome reception at Bådin Bryggeri, 20.00-22.30

On Wednesday we will meet at the local brewery Bådin. Here you will get the opportunity to mingle with other conference participants and enjoy the good taste of ‘craft beer from the arctic’. We also have the pleasure to announce that Prof. Dr. Annette R. Hofmann will say a few words on behalf of the original group from the Transnational Working Group for the Study of Gender and Sport. There will be pizza, music and a ‘sport and gender’ quiz. Come and mingle with your fellow conference participants!

Thursday, November 17th

Choose between

Yoga flow with Frida at Dramasalen (Nord University), 16.30-17.30

We invite you for a smoothing yoga flow with our yoga instructor and PhD student Frida. The one hour of relaxation is organized conveniently at the university facilities after the scientific sessions are finished. Mattresses will be in place, just bring yourself in comfortable clothes. No prerequisites but guaranteed joyful mood!

or

Sauna and Swim with Siv at Pust (in the city center), 17.00-18.00

We bring the eager ones to experiment the northern November to the full to a sauna session hosted by our committee member Siv. The floating sauna in the city center and a chance to take a swim in the cold sea is a great way to dip into the outdoor life of Norway. We have booked the whole sauna for our guests for one hour.

After these activites we invite you to enjoy a lovely meal.

Conference dinner at Bølgen & Moi (in the city center), 19.30-21.30

On Thursday evening it is time for the Conference dinner at Bølgen & Moi. The restaurant is located at the harbour in Bodø and we will enjoy great food in great company on the second day of the conference.

Friday, November 18th

Walk & Talk, 08.00-09.00

Don’t forget to pack your sneakers and warm clothes! We meet at Nord University outside the main entrance for a 40 minutes morning walk. This is a great way to start the final day of the conference and to engage with colleagues outside of the sessions.
