The organizing committee of the “Emerging Issues and Alternative Futures for Gender and Sport”-conference stands in solidarity with the people of Iran as they protest peacefully for freedom, human rights and gender equality. We join with the international community in condemning any violence or injustices by the Iranian authorities. We support all the Iranian athletes who defy violent and restrictive measures and call upon sports academia to express their solidarity in ways that they can support Iranian female sportspeople.
