Yesterday we sampled the seafloor of Saltfjorden with our new boat ‘Tanteyen II’ – the first benthos sampling after it was put in operation in November 2024. At two locations benthos was sampled in 350 m and 115 m depth to study the seasonal changes of seafloor communities in these deep fjords. This study is part of the Benthos-Time-Series Nord has established in 2013 to investigate the deep basins of sub-Arctic fjords and how they change under climate change and increasing human use.
