ArcSolution Featured in Arctic Frontiers Panel Series on Arctic Coastal Sustainability

On October 19–20, 2025, Arctic Frontiers, in collaboration with the Norwegian Embassy in Canada, hosted a series of panel discussions in Vancouver focused on safe and sustainable coasts in the Arctic. The event was part of Arctic Frontiers Abroad—a two-city initiative tied to the One Ocean Expedition of the tall ship Statsraad Lehmkuhl, which was in port in Vancouver from October 17–21.

The Vancouver panels brought together researchers, Indigenous leaders, government decision-makers, and business representatives to explore ways to protect Arctic coastal communities and ocean environments as climate change and rising demand for natural resources increase.

Julia Olsen from Nord University spoke about the ArcSolution project at the event, sharing ideas on working across different fields, engaging local communities, and using a One Health approach in Arctic research.

The discussions covered topics like how to manage the ocean, how communities can stay strong, tracking changes in the ocean, and ways to grow without harming the environment. They showed how important it is for countries to work together to protect Arctic coasts in the future.
