This research will analyse the current role of maritime transport in Northern Norway, compared to other modes of transport.

This includes analysis of cargo flows and regional and global trade (trends in supply and demand) in commodities and processed industrial products produced or consumed within the region, which could justify new transport infrastructure investments.

Key regional business activities and production potential of export-import industries will be analysed in order to make projections of cargo volumes and types through 2030.
