Anke Zondag has an academic and practical background within foreign language teaching. She has worked as a fulltime teacher of English and German in many Norwegian schools and has been as a mentor for new English teachers. For decades, she has applied her practical knowledge as an improviser in her classrooms. Her research examines the potential of applying improvisation activities for spontaneous speech practice in teacher education.
Since 2012, Anke Zondag has mainly taught English didactics and literature to both pre- and in-service student teachers at HiNT/Nord University. She has also taught within broader educational courses such as Counselling Training and Mentoring, Numeracy as a Basic Skill, and Nordic and International Perspectives on Teaching and Learning.
