Mestring (Empowering Learners); Interactive Teaching; Arts in Learning; Outdoor Classroom
Heidi Haavan Grosch is Assistant Professor in the teacher training programme for grades 1-10, working with both pre-service and in-service teachers. She continues to be actively involved in schools herself, continually working on ways to empower learners. She is the programme director for CyberBridge, a YouTube Channel toolbox for teachers, and works with a number of collaborative projects with the local community and abroad.
Heidi Grosch has taught in all grade levels from pre-kindergarten to high school in both the United States and Norway. She has also been actively involved in the arts, working as a drama teacher in the Norwegian culture school system, directing children’s choirs and working as an artist-in-residence. Her interactive hands-on courses integrate the arts as a teaching tool, empowering students’ to be a part of the learning experience and not just receivers of it. Collaboration is also important, and she has coordinated multiple opportunities for University students to work with children in a variety of settings outside the classroom.
