Mayhem, Mystery, and English Mastery – 1920s style

A swanky speakeasy full of starlets, gangsters, and flappers: what could possibly go wrong? When a shocking crime disrupts the revelry, it’s up to the guests to uncover the truth.

Step inside the Cat’s Meow Nightclub, where English students and faculty from the One-Year Program (årsstudium) and Teacher Education for Grades 8–13 (lektorutdanning) engaged in an afternoon of intrigue, investigation, and immersive storytelling. Through role-playing, clue analysis, problem-solving, and collaboration, these students strengthened their English proficiency while honing critical thinking and performance skills. For teacher education students, the event also served as a hands-on demonstration of interactive, game-based learning, an approach that fosters engagement, deep learning, and creativity in the classroom.
